Labour Day Weekend- Chapman Pool

The last weekend in February was our Labour day weekend so we decided to go down south with Dren and JB and camped at Chapman Pool, just off the Blackwood River. Sadly Cody had other committments so he opted to stay in Rockingham for the weekend. It was very strange without him along; Brett tried hard to take his jobs like setting up the boys tent with Wade and he kept a close eye on Travis to make sure he was doing his job as well..... But we had a great spot and the weather was lovely and hot so we made the most of the river. Even I went swimming every day!!
The kids had a blast on JB's blowup boat, flipping it, doing bombies, and just having a grand old time.

Travis spent hours in the kayak, paddling from one side of the river

to the other side of the river.

When he wasn't paddling, he was busy catching little fish and keeping them in a bucket.

Looking down river, where we swam up to get to the Blackwood. Jessica and Natasha having fun swimming...

Dren and JB took their dogs along and the kids had great fun taking them for paddles in the kayaks.

Milo's not too sure what all the fuss is about. (Travis is still hitting the river banks)

To cap off the fun, Dave and JB made a rope swimg above the river and the kids (the big ones too!!) had a great time jumping into the deep waters of the river. It was a little dangerous, the kids had to let go on time or they'd land on the rocks down below....but thankfully there were no accidents and they all had fun.

Looking out on the Blackwood River from the lookout at the rope swing.

Sunday we went to Busselton church and caught up with Ray and Theresa again... always great to catch up with friends!!

And before we knew it, it was time to pack up and head back home, and back to school and work!

Term 1

Wow, I can't believe how quickly time flies by!! Term 1 of school is already finished and I haven't posted any blogs at all!! Sorry about that... I'll try to fill you in quickly.
The term actually went by very smoothly and quickly (it was only a 9 week term, so I may be excused to some degree!!) We filled the term with a few exciting things...

Once the kids went back to school, we organised a birthday party for Brett with his fellow class mates. 12 excited boys came to celebrate and had a great time. They came after school 'til 7pm. Sadly all our cameras had flat batteries so we didn't get any photos of the cake or blowing out of candles but we dug around and eventually found a camera we could use and managed to photograph some of the fun games they played:

They all wanted to go in the pool (of course!!) and so they played a water relay game...

Then started shivering during the bombie competition

Playing dunking for lollies

Brett and Tyrone trying to outdo eachother in the balloon relay

Pass the orange under the chin... They also played the Smartie game and a Space ship game before they finished with a final game...

...of treasure hunt which had the boys searching from the kitchen, to the playroom and out the back

to the laundry and the car

and in Brett's veggie garden and then back to the kitchen where they found their treasure of loot bags! They really enjoyed the hunting!

After a sausage sizzle for dinner it was time for the boys to be picked up. Here they are waiting in the tree...where else would boys wait???
