On November 10th Cody turned sweet 16. Happy Birthday Cody!! Although I was at camp, I managed to sneak away to have dinner at home with my family to celebrate this special day. It was good fun to come home to just the older kids, as Brett and Travis were staying at friends' houses. (thanks Linda and Sonya!!) You don't realise how much of everyone's attention the 2 youngest get until they're not there. We had a great evening, with lots of undisturbed talking and game playing.
It's amazing, thinking of Cody already turning 16. It doesn't seem that long ago that we got married and soon after our first baby was born. A little boy who pooped on the doctor's shoes as he was born. I remember thinking how easy the whole parenting thing is because Cody was such an easy baby and toddler. You just had to say no and he listened!! He was an easy-going, contented baby and still has that same character today. He doesn't get overly excited about things but is content with whatever comes his way. He was lucky to have such a character because being the first born he was, and still is, often the guinea pig; trial and error parenting... Thanks be to God, he has grown into a wonderful young man and I look forward to the next few years as he enters into adulthood.

Year 6 Camp 2009
From November 9th to 13th Brooke and I went to the year 6 camp at the Manjedal Scout center. I know I'm no longer a year 6 student, but hey, I still feel young.... I went along as a cook, also known as the head chook, and had a fantastic time with my fellow chooks Petrie and Judy. Feeding 65 hungry students and 13 hungry adults for 5 days is a very demanding task but we turned it into loads of fun. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and then evening drinks kept us going all day long! We managed to sneak in a few fun activities, like the flying fox and the low ropes course. On Thursday we had a break and joined the kids at Adventure World, having a grand old time flying down the water slides. Like I said, I'm still young at heart!! So it sure wasn't a case of all work and no play.
Year 6 camp is such a fantastic camp. It's about all the kids from the various primary schools getting together and getting to know one another before they start Middle school together. What a fun-filled week it is. And now Brooke's all ready to enter a new phase in life: Middle school!!
