Year 6 Camp 2009

From November 9th to 13th Brooke and I went to the year 6 camp at the Manjedal Scout center. I know I'm no longer a year 6 student, but hey, I still feel young.... I went along as a cook, also known as the head chook, and had a fantastic time with my fellow chooks Petrie and Judy. Feeding 65 hungry students and 13 hungry adults for 5 days is a very demanding task but we turned it into loads of fun. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and then evening drinks kept us going all day long! We managed to sneak in a few fun activities, like the flying fox and the low ropes course. On Thursday we had a break and joined the kids at Adventure World, having a grand old time flying down the water slides. Like I said, I'm still young at heart!! So it sure wasn't a case of all work and no play.
Year 6 camp is such a fantastic camp. It's about all the kids from the various primary schools getting together and getting to know one another before they start Middle school together. What a fun-filled week it is. And now Brooke's all ready to enter a new phase in life: Middle school!!
