The idea is that the kids get to know eachother from all 5 of our schools, before they start middle school all together next year, making the transition from primary to middle school a little less daunting. The kids really enjoyed their week and were kept busy from morning 'til late with all sorts of activities. On Monday we survived a 40 degrees plus day. We spent as much time as we could arranging and rearranging the big walk in fridge!! During the week, the kids did things like archery, a confidence course, a lowropes course, a blind trail, and a huge flying fox. (I even managed to get a turn on that one. What a buzz, flying across the valley, above all the trees!!) On Thursday we went to Adventure world for a day, which is an amusement park with lots of different water slides, and other rides that the kids really enjoyed. The evenings were spent being entertained (one evening they had a band up, and all the kids got to sing some silly song. Meagan had a ball with her group of friends.
They also did a rafting excercise where each team were given some logs, bottles and string and had to build a raft and swim their team to the island to find the hidden treasure. Wade's team worked together really well, and won. Well, actually, their's was the only raft that made it to the island in one piece!!
The kids made new friends and have many great memories to take with them into middle school.
Sorry, I'm having a few photo issues, like I said, you'll just have to be patient with me.
Til next time...Marg
