Seatbelt Troubles!

On Friday, Mum L, Linda, Travis and I went to Capel to visit Dren for her birthday. We had an enjoyably relaxing day, and the drive home went smoothly until we got to the school to swap cars. Most children manage to climb out of their seatbelts, but not Travis!! He got stuck in his.
He had the shoulder strap behind his back so when he unbuckled himself, he got tangled up in the belt. It twisted around his tummy, and activated the ratchet safety thing so it just kept getting tighter and tighter around his waist. There was no way we could get him out. We ended up ringing Toyota to see how to release him but all they could say was to let it in until it hit the release section. Yeah right... after first getting our hands on a pair of scissors, we pulled that belt as tight as we could, but all it did was managed to make Travis dangerously uncomfortable!! I couldn't even get my fingers between the belt and his tummy anymore so out came the scissors and I cut through the seat belt. Toyota won't cover it because the seatbelt did not malfunction and wasn't being used properly! It was a little scary but also sort of comical....who's kid gets tangled up in a seatbelt anyway??? Thankfully all was well with Travis, and tomorrow we hope to get a new seatbelt put in again.
Life is always full of its little dramas!!
