On Saturday, November 10th we celebrated Cody's 14th birthday. Wow, I can't believe he's 14 already! What a rich blessing God has given to us! On the Friday evening he had 9 friends over and we had an awesome party. First we took them to the beach to do some kayak races and a sandcastle building competion, and then back home for some dinner; spaghetti with no utensils was a huge hit with the boys!! go figure!; and some more team building games, and of course jelly for dessert with no utensils, no hands allowed. What's with boys and loving grubby stuff. The boys were kept busy the whole time but had a really good time co-operating together. They played a few races, one where each team had 2 pillow cases and had to use them as stepping stones to get the whole team from the starting line to the finish line, and another where each team member had to be carried across to the other side. They all worked well together. It was fantastic seeing Cody's group of friends (some I hadn't met before!!) having fun...they're a really nice bunch of kids.
